Authentication Service Overview

Legitmark provides expert authentication services to address the growing problem of counterfeit goods in online marketplaces. Our authenticators undergo regular training and maintain extensive reference libraries to ensure accurate determinations.

Authentication Process & Standards

Our independent authenticators evaluate items by examining visible identifiers including tags, logos, materials, construction quality, shape, and other brand-specific markers. Each determination follows rigorous standards developed through years of expertise and continuous education.

Image Requirements & Disclaimers

All authentication determinations are based solely on what is visible in the submitted photographs. To ensure accurate results:

• Submit clear, well-lit photographs showing all required angles and details • Include close-ups of logos, tags, serial numbers, and other identifying features • Ensure all relevant identifiers are clearly visible and unobstructed • Follow the specific photo requirements for each item category in the app

Important: Authentication results are limited to what can be observed in the submitted images. Poor image quality, missing angles, or obscured details may impact the accuracy of the determination.

Scope of Authentication

Our authentication service evaluates only the primary item submitted. We do not authenticate or evaluate:

• Packaging materials (boxes, dust bags, tissue paper) • Additional accessories not original to the product design • Receipts, invoices, or proof of purchase documents • Unbranded or aftermarket gifts included with the item • Authentication cards or certificates from other services

Legitmark reserves the right to decline authentication services for:

• Point of Sale (POS) items, samples, or promotional merchandise • Gift with purchase items or promotional giveaways • Items marked "Not for Resale" or similar designations • Items marked as "Uniform" or intended for uniform use • Any items at our sole discretion based on service limitations

The authentication result applies exclusively to the specific item photographed and does not extend to any accompanying materials.

Alterations & Repairs

Our authentication considers the item as a whole, including any visible modifications:

• Results reflect the current state of the item, including any alterations or repairs • Aftermarket changes that affect essential identifiers will be noted • Professional repairs using authentic parts may not impact authentication • Significant alterations that compromise original design elements may affect the determination

We evaluate whether modifications impact the item's authenticity markers while documenting any observed changes.

Service Fees

Current service fees are displayed in the Legitmark app and on our website. Fees vary by item category and authentication type. Legitmark reserves the right to adjust fees at any time at our sole discretion. All fees will be clearly displayed before service submission.

Refund Policy

Due to the nature of digital authentication services, all sales are final once the authentication process begins. Refunds are not available for:

• Completed authentications regardless of result • Services where required photos were submitted • Disagreements with authentication outcomes

Exceptions may be made solely for technical errors preventing service delivery.

Service Scope & Claims

Legitmark will review any claim submitted by a certificate holder within thirty (30) days of certificate issuance. Claims must be submitted through our official support channels with the certificate number and supporting documentation.

Dispute Process:

Certificate Holders: Use the "Report Feedback" option in the app and select "Dispute Authentication Results" to submit your claim • Non-Certificate Holders: Use the "Submit Feedback" option at the bottom of the certificate page on the Legitmark website

All disputes should include the certificate number and detailed reasoning for the dispute, along with any supporting evidence.

For matters outside our service scope, including:

• Purchase transactions or refunds for items bought from third parties • Seller disagreements or marketplace claims • Return policies or buyer protection issues

These matters must be directed to the original seller or marketplace where the item was purchased. Legitmark is not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers and cannot mediate purchase disputes.

Intellectual Property

Submitted photographs may be used by Legitmark to improve our authentication database and service quality. You may not submit copyrighted materials without express written consent from the copyright owner.

Disclaimer

Trust only certificates hosted on app.legitmark.com. Certificates displayed or distributed without Legitmark authorization are invalid per our Terms of Service.

Legitmark and its authenticators are independent entities not endorsed by, affiliated with, or authorized by the brands we authenticate. Legitmark is not sponsored by or affiliated with any brand listed on our platform. Brand owners listed are not responsible for Legitmark findings and may not honor our certificates.

Our authentication service relies on expert analysis and proprietary methods, not artificial intelligence. Our service provides expert opinions based on extensive training and experience. Authentication results represent our professional assessment at the time of review based on submitted materials.
